Xi Açaí has its origins with the 3 founders, Abi, Wes and Michael, enjoying cocktails by the pool in Las Vegas, brainstorming new beverage possibilities that would allow them to make a real impact on the cocktail scene. Brazilian partner Abi wanted to introduce something that represented the spirit of her home country; health-conscious partner Wes felt that superfoods were under-represented in the cocktail scene and presented an enormous opportunity; and diehard San Francisco foodie Michael only wanted to be sure that whatever they produced would be refreshing and delicious. After several batches of recipe experimentation in the kitchen, what emerged was Xi Açaí, the perfect sublimation of all 3 founders' passion and vision.

Michael Rooney
President / CEO / General Counsel

Michael is a successful lawyer specializing in finance litigation and a freelance entrepreneurial business consultant. Utilizing his JD/MBA, Mr. Rooney has assisted successful startups ranging across industries as diverse as food, beauty, health, law practice, and real estate. His own enterprise, Michael Rooney Law Office, was founded in 2007 and has successfully maintained 30% growth per year ever since. Mr. Rooney has law, real estate, and notary licenses in California. He holds a B.A., cum laude, from the University of Oklahoma (2001) as well as a Juris Doctorate with certificates of specialization in litigation and intellectual property from Golden Gate University School of Law, (2006) and an MBA with a concentration in finance from Golden Gate University’s Ageno School of Business (2007).

Wesley Cox
VP of Branding

Wesley Cox is a marketing professional with a particular focus on brand development. He studied Business at the University of Oklahoma with specializations in Marketing and MIS. He has worked as an outside business consultant with medium-to-large businesses since 2005. As a consultant he has served both B2B and B2C with strategic marketing ranging from internet development to corporate branding initiatives. An expert in internet marketing, consumer product development and branding, Mr. Cox leads the Marketing efforts of the GRC Beverages LLC family of products.

Robert Nathanson
EVP of Sales

Robert Nathanson is a visionary and marketing guru with a proven track record of success in long term market strategies and building high-performance executive teams. Robert has lead sophisticated platforms with product and service organizations with large market penetrations. From being a Doctor to an Entrepreneur, Robert focuses on operational excellence while planning and delivering growth strategies designed to improve market share. He earned a dual Bachelors of Science in Business Administration at the University of San Francisco and a Doctorate in Chiropractic. Robert is a strategic visionary with extensive relationships in the grocery and restaurant/bar spaces.

Abi Gomes
VP of Product Development

Brazil native-turned-US citizen Abi is a student of business with a diverse professional background. An ambitious business woman, Abi has experience ranging from private equity to real estate to technology, and is a determined and persistent leader. Her passion for luxury, upscale products and global travel are evident in her strategic focus and work ethic. A former reality star, Abi-Maria is a spokeswoman and brand ambassador for the entire line of GRC Beverages products.
