Renowned sommelier, Jason Meringolo, is bringing his dream of a new wine experience to Loudoun County, Virginia.  Vino e Amici will be a full-service retail merchant of fine wines from around the world, staffed by unpretentious wine experts, and will offer a tasting room experience similar to that of a vineyard.  Vino e Amici will be a warm, comfortable, and inviting environment that will also offer the use of iPad technology to provide extensive details about all the wines in our inventory. Vino e Amici is a family owned and operated business with deep roots in the Northern Virginia community.

**Tasting Room**

Picture this...Bring your friends and make yourself comfortable in one of Vino e Amici’s oversized chairs or couches while enjoying great conversation.  Or, take some “me” time to relax and enjoy a glass of wine while reading from a selection of wine magazines.

If you’d prefer, join us in our bar area and check out our state-of-the-art wine pouring machines. These Enomatic machines will offer a daily selection of 8 red and 8 white wines that are ensured to be at the proper serving temperatures and their flavors preserved as the winemakers intended. 

While Vino e Amici will be geared mostly toward the oenophile (a.k.a. person who likes wine), we will also offer a selection of craft and imported beers.  With over 60 craft breweries located throughout the Commonwealth, a strong emphasis will be placed on this market.

**Wine Shop**

In the event you are short on time and are looking to enjoy a drink at home or to buy a gift for someone special, Vino e Amici’s wine shop will be just what you are looking for.  Here we plan to evoke feelings of an Old World wine cellar with dark wood racks and warm lighting.  Vino e Amici will specialize in limited production boutique wines from around the world and will also pay homage to the expanding Virginia wine market.  With over 80 wineries in Northern Virginia alone, Vino e Amici will carry an extensive Virginia wine portfolio.  And, a special “cold room” will display an even rarer collection of wines in order to maintain correct aging temperature and humidity levels.

The Old World will meet the New World with Vino e Amici’s iPad platform.  Guests will be welcome to use our iPads which will be customized to provide detailed tasting notes and vineyard information on every wine housed in the shop.  These iPads will also offer a special wine pairing feature that enables users to search for wines based on flavor profiles or on food they wish to pair with the wine. 

In case you get hungry, a limited small plate tasting menu will be available and will be designed to encourage sharing among friends.  Selections will pay homage to Jason’s Italian family, as many recipes will be those that have been handed down from his grandparents, and all items will be made fresh.

Additionally, our wine shop will host events such as tastings, classes, winery promotions, and other celebrations throughout the year.  And, because we believe in giving back and supporting the community that will be supporting us, Vino e Amici looks forward to occasionally partnering with local non-profit organizations to help raise awareness and to donate a portion of certain special event revenues.

Vino e Amici will offer a warm and unpretentious environment that will encourage conversations with the friendly and well trained staff to create a learning environment for less knowledgeable wine consumers.  Vino e Amici will establish a culture where snobbery is “out’ and education is “in” with an unpretentious yet sophisticated staff and environment.  Our goal is to create a warm and inviting feeling that makes the purchase of wine a fun and stress free.
