At Stag Designs, our specialty is crafting premium leather and leather accented bags, including duffels, totes, briefcases and backpacks. Each Stag Designs creation is individually hand crafted by some of the finest leather craftsmen working in the world today, in one of the world’s leather crafting capitals: Leon, Mexico. Each piece is repeatedly checked throughout the manufacturing process, to ensure that it meets with the meticulous Stag Designs quality standards.Once each piece is complete, it gets shipped from Leon to our headquarters and state-of-the-art fullfillment center in Dallas,Texas, where it is inspected again before it is packaged and ready for shipment.

Stag Designs has been in business for less than 2 years, but we're already building a reputation for excellence throughout the leather industry.

In our first year of business we shipped over $65,000 in leather products. In the first quarter of 2014 alone, we've seen a 400% growth in sales, including a highly successful showing at an industry trade show in Dallas.

Stag Designs products are available in 65 retail stores. We also have a thriving private label business: our most notable private label client is the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group.

The Stag Designs team has big plans for the future of our company, including diversifying our product line beyond bags into other premium leather goods, and establishing our own independent retail identity with online sales. This will be achieved by launching an aggressive marketing campaign to draw more traffic to our e-commerce site. 

The next big goal for Stag Designs, however, is to establish our own workshop and office in Leon, Mexico, where our products are manufactured. By setting up a workshop in Leon, Stag Designs will be able to better control all aspects of production, from material sourcing to manufacturing, and better ensure that every product meets with our exacting quality and craftmanship standards.

Clay has over 25 years of experience spanning manufacturing, wholesale, distribution, and retail segments. In the 90s and early 2000s, he created Mission Trade, a line of home accessories that he sold to Bassett Furniture Industries. Clay is the Creative Director of Product & Showroom set up as well as overseeing Sales & Marketing.

Rene Rangel, President
Rene has worked in the manufacturing, wholesale, distribution and retail segments for over 25 years, and was instrumental in building Mission Trade to its $6 million in sales. Rene has also been involved in several retail operations, as well as buying and sourcing manufacturing all over the world.Rene is the Director of Manufacturing/Material Sourcing & Quality Control.
