The Solar to Scale projections over the next five years have a forecast of $1.1 Billion in revenue, a business valuation of $950 Million plus, and a net profit of over $265 Million dollars.

Meet Our Team

Kirk Maust, CEO

Kirk Maust earned one of the nation’s first degrees in solar and renewable technology in 1981. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University’s Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering Department, recognized as having the largest and most prestigious engineering degree program in North America. Moving to Florida, Maust managed and later acquired the solar contracting division of an air conditioning firm. 

Kirk Maust now represents the new breed of entrepreneurial executive; his defining characteristics encompass 35-years of “real world” solar and renewable engineering experience, Internet technology and digital communication skills, as well as having the spirit and aspirations of an e-commerce visionary. 

In the early 2000’s, building on the success of offering alternative energy information to consumers via the Internet in the mid 90’s, Maust developed Solar Direct’s first electronic shopping cart – the Energy SuperMarket. This investment in an e-commerce platform dramatically increased revenues, and distribution expanded first nationally, and then globally.  His goal now is to further expand the years of knowledge and experience exponentially through the Solar Buyers Club platform, to bring the [solar] power to the people (everywhere).

Dale Gulden, President

A 37 year veteran of the Solar and Renewable Energy Industr

y, Dale Gulden holds a bachelors degree in Business Marketing and Economics from Indiana State University and was the former President of the Gulf Coast Chapter of the Florida Solar Energy Industries Association (FlaSEIA). Gulden has served as a keynote speaker to environmental and business groups on the economic and ecological “green benefits” of solar and renewable energy technologies.

In 1986, Gulden partnered with Kirk Maust, a leading solar engineer, establishing Solar Direct as one of Florida’s premier solar contracting firms offering installations statewide in Florida. Solar Direct holds state licensing for solar, electrical, commercial pool construction, and has its own Professional Engineer on staff. Solar Direct also offers consulting and engineering services for large custom residential and commercial projects.

As the leader of Solar Direct, Dale has directed the company into one of the highest ranking e-commerce destinations for renewable technology. Gulden then expanded this unique model nationwide by establishing Solar Direct’s internet presence in 1995 with TheEnergySuperMarket.com, becoming 

the first website to offer renewable product information and consumer eco-education along with the ability to purchase products on the internet.

Gulden’s responsibilities include oversight of the Sales and Marketing Departments, providing consultation to major clients, as well as conceptualizing future growth and direction for Solar Direct.

Sheila Gulden, COO

Sheila Gulden joined Solar Direct in 1996 as the Assistant to the General Manager. She has a comprehensive knowledge of the operations of the company, including back office logistics, warehouse and fulfillment, and finance. In 2000, Sheila was promoted to Administrations Manager and in 2005 to Vice President and CAO.

Jason Tomczyk, CBDO

With nearly 12 years management experience in one of North America's leading Solar and Renewable Energy companies, Jason brings a wealth of skill to the table. Organization and planning are his forte' and his attention to detail and natural drive to serve each customer with impeccability ensures a satisfying transaction, start to finish. He has managed the installation of thousands of solar systems, both residential and commercial, and is a certified installer of Vortex Solar Panels.

Oliver Baumgart, CSO

Oliver Baumgart started his business career as Financial consultant for Mercedes Benz Financial Services in Munich, Germany from 1995 – 2004. He then worked as consultant for “Deutsche Bundeswehr” based in Munich from 2004 – 2009. Beginning in 2002, Oliver started his own part-time solar consulting company in Germany, offering advice for Home Owners and financing options for Solar systems. 

In 2009 he expanded and founded another company in Naples, Florida. Florida’s Green Energy Inc. which now is United Capital Solar Consulting Group Inc.  Since 2011 Oliver Baumgart has worked  for Solar Direct as an independent Product Solution Specialist.  In  May 2013 Oliver was sponsored by Solar Direct as Sales Manager for the Florida market, and became a Resident U.S. Alien in 2016. In 2016 he was promoted to CSO for the U.S. Market.

David Webster, CMO

David Webster, founder of Facebook’s Living off the Grid page now boasts more than 1 million followers!  His previous online companies have included Move-a-piano.com plus Namebrandpianos.com, Cheap-pianos.com, Worldofsteinways.com, Ornatepianos.com, and Restore-a-piano.com (all top Google-positioned names that made piano buying easy with free nationwide delivery).  Other success stories included one of the biggest sellers of Residential Roofs in the Oklahoma marketplace! 

Living off the Grid has more than 5000 articles published to date on Offgridquest.com about Strawbale homes, tinyhouses, solar, wind energy, rainwater catchment, raising livestock, living in the wilderness, generators, electricity, etc.   Eventually David learned to monetize the traffic that was flowing through theses pages, and developed partnerships with other pages such as AmazingToSee.com.  His sites have boasted more than 40 million weekly page views over the years!

Today David is the CMO of SolarBuyers.Club, bringing systems skills that built the piano trade, knowledge gained from the roofing industry, and a passion to empower individuals with their own energy production systems.  He has a vision to see self-reliance become more than just a wilderness adventure, but longs to see efficient housing with rainwater catchment, self-powered, and free of “the man”.  He dreams of a world without power lines in the way of a sunset, and is the driving force behind the idea that 12 years from now, the power lines will be obsolete and coming down.  He continues to manage the Living off the Grid page, creates new web ideas like Solarquotemachine.com, shoots drone footage in his spare time, manages some 25 Facebook pages and groups, and interacts with millions of people on a daily basis.  Living with a sunrise view every morning, he has taken up photography for fun, often sharing around in order to draw people into his world.

Paul Bland, CTO

Paul Bland has a AS Computer Sciences Associative Programming Degree from Keiser University, and is currently attending USF with a computer sciences major and biochemistry minor.

Current and/or Past Certifications include; Network+, CCNA, MCSE, A+.  Experience with C, C++, C#, Java, Visual Basic, PHP, ASP, Cold Fusion, Perl, Python and assembler.

Over 15 years working in the IT field in areas ranging from network administration, security, windows, Linux, MySQL, Apache, and php development. Custom applications development from the ground level through completed launch in hundreds of projects spanning most modern programming languages.

Paul oversees and manages all aspects of IT infrastructure for Solar Direct, including computer networking and hardware, software applications, and web development, analytics and optimization.

Expansion Opportunities

We are currently seeking an additional $1,000,000 funding in the form of Debt or Convertible Debt between August and October 2017.  

Between September and early 2018 we will be seeking a second tranche of $2,000,000, an Equity Stock offering from accredited investors and a limited number of non-accredited investors.
