Finding international music is hard. Finding the copyright holders is even harder.
Seven Seas Co-Founder, Brooke Wentz is a recognized and awarded producer of international music with a rolodex of contacts that weren’t being fully maximized. So she decided to build a platform where other media producers could benefit, and her international contacts could have access to the entirety of Hollywood; not just her.
There’s an incredible wealth of unique content out there, but no easy way to access it.
Brooke’s knowledge of how to find international music and rolodex of contacts weren’t being fully maximized. So she decided to build a platform where other media producers could benefit, and her international contacts could have access to the entirely of Hollywood, and not just her.
This was the beginning of Seven Seas Music.
In addition to solving the main pain point of many media producers not having access to authentic music from other countries, Seven Seas Music also addresses current, more specific, market needs.
Our platform’s functionality may seem similar to Radio Garden, the “Google Earth of Radio,” but they only aggregate radio stations. Seven Seas users can listen to a vast library of international songs with robust metadata giving song title, country, language, genre, and instrument choice. The Company is also in touch with the copyright holders to license songs.
Additionally, demand for a service like Seven Seas is only continuing to rise as more and more TV shows are being produced in other countries -- e.g. SURVIVOR, Bones, Parts Unknown, Criminal Minds, etc.
Hollywood has always been a reflection of reality and as we continue to deal with more complex global issues, more film and TV storylines are being written about international subjects. Think of movies like Argo, Zero Dark Thirty, and No Escape, for example. Projects like these will continue to rise and need relevant international music to set the scene.
Seven Seas Music is uniquely qualified to address these growing needs because of our deep catalog of hard-to-find music built up over decades in the music licensing industry, our patent pending search and discovery tools, and a founding team that has the connections and industry experience to develop a value proposition that works for all partied involved.
Seven Seas Music centralizes music in one place where a filmmaker or ad agency can search by country, language, genre, instrument, or mood and get a license to use it in their production within 24 hours.
Our platform currently hosts over 20,000 hard-to-access songs that are easily findable through the following features:
Recommendation Lists: A list of songs that are custom curated for a potential licensee of music by our experts.
Geotagging: Seven Seas categorizes music based upon where it is produced in the world. We store the longitude and latitude of each region and assign songs to each region by tagging them.
Tagging Search: The Seven Seas music collection is digitally archived and stored with appropriate metadata. This metadata can be searched through specific tags or through autocompletion of words if the user doesn't know exactly what they are looking for.
The end result is a game-changing solution for both media creators and artists.
Media creators find their story’s voice by curating the perfect soundtrack for their film or project. They can make and share playlists with their team, and when they’re ready to license, the music is fully cleared and ready for commercial use.
Artists get their music in front of a global community of media creators. You can showcase your music whether you are an independent label or individual artist.
