Seha Healthcare is a private healthcare chain operating through Egypt’s main medical hubs with the goal of leveraging technology and data to create tailor-made products for the underserved middle-income communities

Seha Healthcare aims to deliver international quality healthcare while being a trusted companion through all stages of life and health. Our priority is to serve with transparency, integrity, dignity and kindness.

Many of Egypt’s public healthcare facilities are characterized by poor quality of service and obsolete equipment. As the Egyptian government decreasing their influence across the healthcare sector, several private providers are filling in these gaps with better service. While the private healthcare sector holds a promising 25% of the share of total hospital beds in Egypt, most of these private healthcare providers cater only to the most affluent patients.

This leads individuals who cannot afford the costs of private healthcare to seek treatment at underfunded public hospitals with long waitlists and incredibly high backlog.

The fragmented nature of healthcare services across Egypt presents Seha Healthcare the opportunity to meet the needs of Egypt’s most underserved people.

Here’s how we do it.

Our vision is to lead the transformation of healthcare services across our communities by becoming the beacon of healthcare quality in Egypt.

Seha Healthcare is building a national hospital chain with presence in Egypt’s four main medical hubs. Our plan is to consolidate 10 assets catering to the middle-income segments under one chain. This will allow us to leverage synergies and economies of scale across our network to deliver international-standard healthcare at affordable prices.

Our strategic objectives span six key areas of focus: institutionalization, improve operational efficiency through technology, transformative healthcare quality, brand building, expansion and leveraging economies of scale.

Institutionalization
Seha plans to create a well-grounded organizational structure with committees and proper governance; a five-year development strategy with strategic financial models and business valuation; and aligned incentives among medical, operational and financial KPIs.

Improve Operational Efficiency
Our goal is to introduce a unified ERP and Hospital Management systems that are applicable to the chain’s size with dashboards to monitor performance. Since Seha expects to treat half a million patients by 2024, We will also leverage technology to improve data collection and analytics, by implementing an electronic medical records system (EMR), the first of its kind in Egyptian Healthcare. Furthermore, we will develop and ensure resilient execution of SOPs in line with the accreditation process.

Transforming Healthcare Quality
Seha will develop best practice medical protocols and standards in an environment focused on clinical outcomes. We are committed to enhancing our patient’s experience with new medical services, updated equipment and technologies and rigorous training of personnel to ensure sustainable quality.

Digitalization
Seha will utilize multiple platforms to digitalize the Seha brand and increase patient acquisition and retention. Seha plans to introduce a telemedicine platform to add in online visitations, as well as a fintech platform that allows patients to pay their medical bills on credit, thus ultimately increasing inclusion.

Expansion
To grow our network, Seha will employ our current acquisition pipeline and expand future opportunities; recruit new doctors and staff in newly-acquired assets; and fully renovate and upgrade our hospitals to provide a better quality of service.

Leveraging on Economies of Scale
Seha will capitalize on increased bargaining power to improve economic benefits from suppliers and contracts. With centralized support functions, our cost benefits can be shared across our network. Implementing a doctor rotation and patient loyalty programs across hospitals allows for improved service throughout the chain.

Our hospitals have experienced remarkable growth since being integrated into our network.
