We have secured a 2-year lease for a beautiful, warm, 850 square foot loft-style space that can accomodate small classes with individuaized attention in two studios.  The space was a former doctor's office that needs converting, remodeling and refurbishing to make it suitable for our yoga center.  

Work is already in progress, but we are raising funds to help offset the expensive costs associated with converting the space so we can focus on offering unique yoga programs in our community.  

Pledge rewards include:

     - Yoga class passes ranging from 1 month to 1 year (great for local residents!)

     - DVDs for home practice (great for out-of-towners!)

     - CDs for mediation at home (great for out-of-towners!)

Sampoorna Yoga Miami (SYM) has been offering yoga classes for over 4 years as part of its Mobile Yoga Studio (TM), independently operating yoga programs at different venues in Miami-Dade County. 

Here are some highlights of the traction SYM has made as a NEW small business:

     - Incorporated as a small business S-corp

     - Trademarked a beautiful logo embodying SUN and OM (perfect for Miami!)

     - Nurtured over 200 students on their individual path in yoga in classes in the Mobile Yoga Studio

     - Trained for and opened a FREE weekly yoga class for military veterans as part of the Connected Warriors program (one of my greatest passions!)

     - Designed my own website and social media sites.  

In late 2013, I left my career as a Scientist with a local pharmaceutical company to pursue full time my calling in yoga.  And now I am making the natural transition from Mobile Yoga Studio to a permanent space. My yoga business is not a money-maker, but more a platform to contribute to the health and happiness of people in my community.  I hope you will consider helping me on this journey!

Here are SYM's most recent accomplishments in opening a permanent space:

     - Committed to a 2-year lease

     - Partition walls have been demolished

     - Bathroom is being remodeled

     - Floors are being replaced

     - Woodwork is being restored

     - Painting is scheduled

     - And much more!

I am doing a lot of the work myself with the help of some wonderful and generous students, friends and family, but a contractor is being paid to do the complex, more involved work.  Plus, I am buying all the necessary tools and materials for this detailed project.  Any pledge you can contribute would be a blessing to offset the enormous costs of a yoga center that will give back to its students something truly PRICELESS!

Sampoorna Yoga Miami is not just a yoga studio.  It is a YOGA RESOURCE CENTER, where everyone can feel comfortable in their own individualized yoga practice, in a nurturing environment regardless of their level, shape, age or ability.  

Not only are asana classes (physical practice) offered by highly trained experienced teachers, but also:

     - Courses on meditation, chanting, yoga philosophy

     - Community outreach and charitable service

     - Ayurveda holistic wellness consultations

     - Teacher training referrals

Sampoorna Yoga Miami offers a sense of community where all who enter feel at home, and can be inspired to practice yoga to strive towards the highest goal of yoga:  Health and happiness -- BLISS ABSOLUTE (TM)!

Yoga is not about being flexible and having a slim physique (although that can be nice, too!) - it is about living life to the fullest. What sets Sampoorna Yoga Miami (SYM) apart from most yoga studios in Miami is its roots in a traditional, comprehensive yoga practice.  

We will NOT simply offer yoga class after yoga class in a fast-paced exercise-driven environment that unfortunately is the norm in most Western yoga studios.  Sampoorna Yoga Miami WILL offer classes, workshops and resources as part of a 6-path approach to yoga and provide skills for a life of happiness and health.

Sampoorna Yoga is the "Yoga of Fullness" developed by Guru Shri Yogi Hari in the lineage of Sivananda.  Teachers at SYM (including me!) have studied directly with Yogi Hari, a living yoga master, at his Ashram in Miramar, Florida.  (See photo below from my Advanced Teacher training graduation.) Teachers received their training and certification in residential programs, in the tradition of Indian yoga ashrams, completely immersed in daily Sadhana (yogic discipline).  This is vastly different from many Western trained yoga  teachers nowadays. 

Sampoorna Yoga is a perfect system of yoga incorporating 6 paths of yoga to instill harmony and balance in body, mind and soul:  Hatha Yoga (postures/body), Karma Yoga (service/action), Bhakti Yoga (devotion), Jnana Yoga (knowledge/philosophy), Nada Yoga (vibration/mantra chanting) and Raja Yoga (meditation). Each aspect will be offered at SYM.
