Nothing makes a meal like Dairy Queen. Whether you’re looking for one of their quality combos or our famous soft serve, Dairy Queen delivers when it comes to the fast, family-friendly service you deserve!

Unfortunately, not all areas of the world have the privilege of living near a Dairy Queen. Imagine growing up without the wonders of the Blizzard within driving distance! One of those places is Northern Mississippi, but Roos-Hoerner Enterprises is out to change that.

We understand the importance of a fast and tasty meal, and with Dairy Queen, we give you more than just a meal: we give you a family-friendly experience topped with fan favorite treats.

Northern Mississippi has a lot of things: colleges, military bases, and even a rising manufacturing business. However, Mississippi is missing one, very important thing: soft serve.

If you’re busy working or taking care of kids, you understand the appeal of a fast and tasty meal, and hey, if that meal comes with some soft serve, no one’s complaining!

That’s why we want to spread the joy of Dairy Queen to the Northern Mississippi area. We want to give people the food, service, and soft serve that they deserve!

With its famous selection of Blizzards and other treats, it’s quickly become a household name and a tradition for many families.

Whether it’s the Friday night ice cream runs or the sports team they sponsored when you were a kid, you probably have a favorite DQ memory that no doubt makes you smile.

That’s why we want to bring Dairy Queen to Columbus, MS: we want to give the area the soft serve that they’re missing so that more wonderful memories can be made!

We want to provide more than just a fast food service: we want to bring the famously customer-focused franchise to the area to make mealtime a little easier and a lot more fun!

So why Columbus? Of all the places in Northern Mississippi, why is Columbus the first place we want to build a DQ? Well, the reasons are simple:

Columbus is in the middle of several college towns, including Mississippi State University, and we are nearby a military base. The Columbus population is 23,000 and there are an additional 11,000 people from the military base. There are also another 23,000 people from the next town over, which always has people coming to Columbus to shop or hang out. There are even more than 100,000 tourists that come for nearby attractions!

This area used to have a Dairy Queen, and it made a killing before it was closed down because the operator wanted to retire. It’s been more than 20 years, so we want to bring back the DQ for those who miss it and those who have never had it!

This area is a part of the Columbus Revitalization Zone. Many new commercial businesses are on the rise in this area and there has been a boom in the manufacturing business. This means more people are looking for restaurants with quick service. Not only that, but with the rising household income and lower unemployment, more people are willing to spend money on eating out!

We’re positioned right off of Main Highway 45 exit into Columbus right in the middle of town, near the Walmart. We’re in front of Leigh Mall and across the street from a brand new state-of-the-art Family Fun Arcade as well as the Old History Steak House, a Columbus landmark. Just less than a mile North is a movie theater. In other words, we’re within walking distance of many establishments, making us the perfect place to stop after a long day of shopping, playing, or hanging out.

Dairy Queen is a franchise that’s loved all around the world, and we know that with our dedication and their success, we will be able to make something really special with our Columbus location.

Once we have the location running, we want to become an active member of our community. One of the first things we plan to do is partner with the local military to offer additional services to their families as well as sponsor their youth teams. Both our owners will be especially helpful in this front, because of their previous business and military experience.

After we have successfully established the first location, we plan to expand to have Dairy Queens in Tupelo, Oxford, Olive Branch, Greenville, and Vicksburg. We want to bring quality food and great soft serve into the Mississippi area, but we can’t do it without your help!

Nicholas developed business and management experience while serving in the armed forces. Having managed multi-million dollar events in the recreation, sports, entertainment, and food industries, he excels at operational management that includes budgeting, expenses and COGS control, grants and donation fundraising, and personal allocation.

Louis J. Hoerner - Owner and Operator
While serving as the Marketing Director of the US Air Force stationed in South Korea, Louis gained valuable business and marketing skills. He developed and implemented marketing programs that increased efficiency, enhanced participation, and increased financial income for the 8th Force Support Squadron. He also raised more than $200,000 in sponsorship for various activities, tracked customer trends, and received multiple IT certifications.
