Daycare Services for Pediatrics with Medical Needs

Pediatric Advanced Life Services will provide services as a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Center. PALS licensed medical professionals will care for children that are medically and technologically dependent up to 21 years of age in a daycare setting. Medical and technological services include the care of individuals with ventilators, tracheostomies, oxygen therapy, asthma, feeding tubes, cystic fibrosis, autism, spinal cord injury, developmental disabilities, child therapy, sleep disorders and other special medical needs prescribed by the child’s primary physician.

PALS will provide care that is consistent. Home care services are often interrupted by staffing issues. Because PALS provides patient specific services in a central location with multiple qualified staff on site parents will be able to depend on childcare during working hours 7:30-5:30 Monday thru Friday. 

There are Pediatric Home Health Agencies in the area that provide in home attendant and nursing for medical need children. The cost of Pediatric Advanced Life Services compared to Home health services is a cost reduction of approximately 30%.

There is limited daycare resources for families with medically and/or technologically dependent children due to the licensing restrictions and qualified staff in traditional daycare settings to care for medically and technologically dependent children. 

PALS will provide services delivered by licensed medical professionals in a daycare setting to include:

• Development, implementation, and monitoring of a specific multidisciplinary plan of care to provide medically dependent or technologically dependent minor in collaboration with a client’s parent and or provider.

• Medical, nursing, psychosocial, therapeutic, and developmental needs of a client

• Caregiver training for the client's primary caregivers

Director of Nursing: Natasha James RN, Natasha has 8 years of experience as a RN. 7 years of her experience has been specific in the Pediatric Primary Medical Need community including Private Duty Nursing care and DON/ Alternate Administrator position. Not to mention her own biological children with medical needs. Her other experience includes managing the JCAHO accreditation for a Home Health Agency, Regional Nurse II for the Medically Dependent Children's program and Utilization Review for Community Care Services for the Department of Aging and Disability.

Administrator: Sunny Deeds RN, Sunny has experience in Healthcare Administration including the start up of a successful Adult Day Care and Licensure/Program Regulation Consulting Program. Other administrative experience includes Certification in Lean Management Systems and project management for hospital quality and compliance. As well as 7 years RN experience in Labor and Delivery to include Neonatal Resuscitation and Level II Nursery care of the newborn.
