The latest CBD market forecast by leading cannabis researchers BDS Analytics and Arcview Market Research, projects that the collective market for CBD sales in the U.S. will surpass $22 billion by 2022.  Most products being sold in the general market today are in untracked channels of distribution.    Yet even with this problem it is  expected that many categories (food, candy, beverages, beauty, skin, etc.) will generate substantial volume across many channels of distribution.

Bethany Gomez, Director of Research for Brightfield Group, in an interview with Green Entrepreneur states. “Despite all the hurdles, [the] legal gray area, and restrictions on distribution, marketing, and even credit card payments, CBD has grown by more than 80 percent over the past year.

The director of Southwest Hemp, Inc. owns a pecan orchard in the valley. The area is an old farming area where corn, cotton and alfalfa are typically grown. There are also vineyards and pistachio and pecan orchards. The area has an elevation of 4,200 to 4,700 with cool nights in the summer. The alfalfa grown there brings a premium due to the weather and cool summer nights.  There are no water restrictions on the property and there is ample ground water for irrigation.  All the land could start being farmed with organic practices.  The soil is a sandy loam which is ideal for hemp.

With the legalization of hemp farming in Arizona, we have the potential for local farmers to have a  very profitable crop.  Hemp production for CBD offers a much higher profit margin than traditional commodities such as corn, alfalfa and cotton. By partnering with Southwest Hemp, Inc to extract the CBD from their hemp, these farmers and Southwest Hemp, Inc can increase their profit margin even more.

Another important point is that in Southeast AZ, with our longer growing season between spring and winter frosts, (as opposed to states further north), we will have a longer time for the plant’s vegetative growth which makes for bigger plants with more flower (flower is where the CBD is more concentrated).  In addition, with our soil scientists improving the soil, we expect to have both a higher yield of hemp biomass per plant and we expect to have a higher yield of CBD oil as well.

HOW IT WORKS

We own free and clear 1000 acres of land with ideal sandy loam soil, ample well water and have an option to purchase 712 adjacent acres. In five years we plan to scale to farming 1,700 acres.

Southwest Hemp, Inc will develop a regional CBD extraction / distillation lab to produce CBD isolate and distillate from hemp we grow and from  biomass grown by neighboring farmers and  from Colorado and Oregon. 

To generate immediate revenue we will buy biomass from Colorado and Oregon to extract CBD this year.   We will buy out of state biomass until our farm and the neighboring farms produce enough biomass to operate the lab year-round.  

Revenue will be generated from sales of  CBD isolate and distillate sales (wholesale / B2B, and eventually retail/online sales).

He owns free and clear 1000 acres in Southeast Arizona and was recently afforded the option to purchase another 712 adjacent acres.  Southeast AZ is an old farming area with great weather for farming hemp.  The farm is at 4200’ elevation and has cool summer nights which is beneficial to all crops.  The soil is a sandy loam which is ideal for Hemp.  In addition there ample ground water and no water restrictions. 

We have a team of professionals with extensive hemp farming and CBD extraction and distillation experience who are ready and eager to launch this project.

Southwest Hemp, Inc will wholesale its CBD Distillate and Isolate to CBD retailers and other general retailers.  The company will begin its process of branding immediately and plans to begin the retail line  after the second year of operation or once it has 700 acres being farmed.
