Occupie is a free social networking app that allows the user to quickly get together with friends to do anything. All you have to do is post a meetup and it can be seen by your friends, whether it’s all of them or just a select few. Whichever friends you choose to see the post can choose to join your plans. It’s the quickest and easiest way to meet up for things like last minute meals or going out to party. It takes away the need for time-wasters like group chats which will leave you with no solid plans after 2 and a half hours of discussing which yogurt shop to go to.

Since we are still in the development stage and have not started the design stage, our screenshots don't look anything like the app that we hope to get into your hands in May/June. We would just like to show you the progress we've made so far. This is not how the final Occupie product will appear when it's uploaded to the App Store.

No matter where or who you are, everyone has their own schedule with errands and activities to be at. Many of our friends including us wanted to get lunch with each other but couldn't because of our conflicting schedules. We never knew who was available at certain times. We thought of an app that could help people meet with their friends to get food, go out partying, hang out, or anything else they want! 

This is the bare minimum we need to push the app through the design phase and make sure all the features we need are in the app. We need more money than this to make the app the best it can be, but we are so passionate about creating this that we will take as much as we can get to make this a reality. Right now we are only working on the IOS version and once the app meets our standards, we will begin working on the Android version. Every extra dollar over the funding goal will go towards creating the perfect Occupie we envisioned. 

We plan to use the money for app design and new features. We want this app to be clean and polished so that it is providing you with convenience when looking to meet up with your friends. However, app developers and designers don't work cheap, so we're turning to you guys for help. If we exceed our goal, we will put every penny into creating new features that will make the user experience that much better. We greatly appreciate every dollar that you guys donate to help this app grow and improve. 

 Currently, we're at the end of the development stage and we're just about ready for the designing stage. We want this stage to be done as soon as possible so that we can test the app out with out you guys and add new features to make the user experience the best it could possibly be. We want to get the app in your hands as soon as we can without sacrificing the the time we need to make sure it is good enough for you!

 Since the original issue that we had was finding who to get food with, we conveyed that idea in the name of the app. It's a combination of the word "occupy," which represents one's use of time, and "pie," to represent food. 

For the future, we want to add and include more features to make Occupie even better. One feature that we would like to add in the near future is a College Feed. This feature will be available to those who have a .edu email. Once your email is verified, you will have access to an Occupie feed just for your college campus. It will make Occupie safer for college students who are looking to meet new people whether it is through a meal or going for a run. We have additional features that will help you meet new people whether you are a student or not which we will reveal more information about later on.
