People in the United States eat more beef than any other country in the world, apart from Uruguay and Argentina. And it makes sense, given that the hamburger is the great American contribution to the culinary world — or so some people would argue, at least.

But alongside our carnivorous tendencies, there’s a rising awareness (and concern) among consumers about where their beef is coming from. It doesn’t take much internet digging to come up with a story about inhumane and unethical treatment of animals by cattle producers with little regard for their livestock’s health and quality of life. Increasingly, consumers care that the meat they are eating has been humanely treated.

At North Star Cattle & Feed we are committed to ensuring that the cattle we bring to market receive the best treatment and highest quality of life possible.

North Star Cattle & Feed is a cow/calf operation and preconditioning program, providing high-quality, naturally-raised, steroid- and hormone-free cattle to feedlots, stockyards, and commercial buyers on a national and international level.

We started two years ago as a modest operation located on just 115 acres of land and dealing only with a limited network of local buyers. Today we operate on 900 acres and have built productive relationships with a network of over 7,000 feedlot operators, breeders, seed stock producers, direct buyers and selling platforms throughout the U.S.

While we began with 115 acres, we've expanded our operations in recent years to 900 acres.  Our cattle are now raised on lush Fescue grass pastures with a natural spring-fed pond and plenty of shade cover for shelter during hot summer months.

We conduct daily supervision and monitoring of herd and pasture conditions, and our calves undergo a rigorous vaccination program that surpasses national standards before we take them to market.

Raising and selling livestock is a cyclical process. We will align our yearly calving period with historical data regarding the optimum times to bring different types of livestock to market: July-August for preconditioned calves, April-June for feeder cattle. The performance of an individual herd depends on a number of factors, including fluctuations in weather conditions, feed costs, pasture conditions and vaccination expenses.

Bryan Williams, Owner/Operator, has extensive personal experience in owning and working with beef cattle, as well as a rock-solid reputation throughout the industry for his honesty, strong work ethic and hands-on approach when it comes to the care and development of his livestock. He will personally oversee daily operations and care of the cattle at North Star Cattle & Feed, as well as taking the lead in sales and buyer relations. Mr. Williams has a degree in Marketing from the University of Tampa, and he has served as a Police Officer in the West Palm Beach Police Department since 1999.
