Broad Problem

Broadband service has become an essential utility.

Despite this fact, 81% of the market has no gigabit option.

Further, broadband is not available to 31% of U.S. households. Where broadband is available, the service quality is often poor and the upstream speeds severely limited.

Existing broadband providers are mostly monopolies or duopolies that face minimal pressure to upgrade their networks due to high barriers to entry for competitors.

Consequently, Americans pay far more than the rest of the developed world for markedly inferior broadband service.

Why We'll Lead

Our network design delivers 10,000 Mbps internet service today!

Our crowdsourcing web-app helps local champions secure a sufficient level of participation to get new network projects off the ground and is a highly efficient method for providing cost estimates

Our platform creates the foundation for providing follow-on services to subscribers (e.g. voice and TV services) and to network owners (e.g. community Wi-Fi or security cameras)

Best of all, our futureproof networks can be easily upgraded to even faster speeds in the future by simply swapping in new equipment

Traction &
Accomplishments

We have pioneered a unique service model for enabling customer-owned broadband networks and have been supporting live subscribers since April 2019. We have engineered the end-to-end technology platform needed to deliver this service: 10-gigabit network design, back-office systems (CRM, billing, monitoring). We have also designed and built a web-app to enable crowdsourcing and automate the design of network projects.

We also established the legal, operational and regulatory templates for creating non-profit Mutual Benefit Corporations to enable community-ownership of network assets. We currently serve both residential and commercial customers. Our crowdsourcing model is currently being applied by multiple champions in multiple neighborhoods.

We have over 60 project inquiries in our pipeline despite having been in “stealth mode” until recently.

We have established channel partnerships with the largest HOA management company in the U.S. and the largest metro dark fiber network operator in the U.S. We also have service delivery partnerships for telephony services, TV services, in-home installation services and network backhaul services.”
