Rod Silva, a fitness enthusiast since the age of 18, always used to prepare healthy meals for lunch and dinner and bring them to the smoothie store he owned in Colonia, New Jersey. When customers started inquiring about the wonderful aromas of Rod’s meals, Rod realized there was a gap in the marketplace for tasty, healthy foods. He began cooking regularly for his customers at his new restaurant, Muscle Maker Grill, in an attempt to provide nutritious alternatives to fast food.

The original Muscle Maker Grill was founded in 1995. But when customers began requesting to be a part of Muscle Maker Grill, Silva decided to establish his restaurant as a franchise in 2007. The hundreds of franchise locations that have opened since then have all been successful, but in just one year the Muscle Maker Grill in Carlstadt, NJ has established itself as the 3rd-highest grossing location in the state.

Nick Curcio and Jason Catalano are two loyal customers who firmly believe in the Muscle Maker Grill concept and philosophy. We have successfully completed private negotiations to acquire the Carlstadt location at an under-market value as part of a plan to help expand the franchise into previously untapped markets. After several months working with the Muscle Maker Grill executive staff, Nick and Jason have developed a strategy to improve the catering option at the Carlstadt Muscle Maker Grill and reinvest revenue into new franchise locations.

Nick Curcio, CFO, has held roles as a project engineer and operations manager for a national water utility and environmental company. He has experience with all phases of project management and operational efficiency planning and control.

Jason Catalano, COO, is the vice president of marketing for a local New Jersey real estate development firm. Because of his position he has extensive experience in marketing, advertising, and public relations.
