Our vision is to serve Columbus, Indiana with the highest-quality coffee, sustainably sourced and ethically traded, through a locally sourced roaster and superior ingredients.  We hope to be a gathering place for our community to meet together, share life, and converse - serving both families and business people - and offer a quick, convenient, and quality experience with exceptional customer service.  We want our business to serve our community through our products, cafe, charitable giving, and involvement in local events.

But we need your support!  We are funding 75% of this cafe on our own, but in efforts to get our community's support, investment, and excitement for this new Specialty Coffee shop, we are asking for you to join us in crossing the finish line financially.  We want to open our doors as soon as possible and this helps us achieve that goal.  If all goes well, we plan to open this January.

Important Note: This is an All or Nothing Campaign... If we aren't able to raise to the goal by the Finish Date, we will not receive any funds.  Also, funds are not deducted from your account unless and until we are successful - no earlier than November 7th.

We love Coffee, we love People, and we love Columbus! and we want to invest even further, to be a blessing to our community, bringing life and quality into all that we do.  We believe that what we have put forth in this business plan does just that, and that this concept is best suited for the 310 4th St. space — a perfect complement to the surrounding downtown businesses and the Columbus Arts District, creating a new and unique morning-time destination — it’s time for Columbus to have a truly hometown specialty coffee house! 

Whether you need to grab a quick cup of coffee before work, hold an informal meeting with a colleague, gather with friends while the kids play, or relax while waiting for a movie at Yes Cinema — Lucabe Coffee Co. will be known throughout the community as the new home away from home — and will be a staple of the 4th Street Entertainment Corridor with a new and unique offering, and many expansion opportunities!

We’re also passionate about families, and that is the basis for us launching this business - our name is even derived from our family!  We want to serve the families in this community in a big way!

We intend to serve with the highest customer care, the best specialty coffee, and an amazing environment to gather people.  This is not an easy task but we want to be intentional about our mission and share it openly with you.  We want our words and intentions here and in our mission statement to be a way for our future customers to hold us to that standard. 

One of our ambitions is to source as much of our products as local as possible.  Whether homemade or just bought locally, we see local products as a great value.  Our coffee roaster is a Sunergos Coffee-Micro Roastry in Louisville KY.  They are exceptional roasters, with exception beans, and exceptional character.  Just the kind of people we want to work with. 

We desire to give back to our community a percentage of our earnings.  In an effort to serve and love our town well, we see donations as a necessity.  We also plan to be involved in many local events, as well as provide fun events at Lucabe!  

We are currently making great progress to getting the doors open.  We have almost finalized our lease, we have chosen our roaster (Sunergos Coffee - Micro Roastery) and we are currently juggling all of the details of build-out, decor, and compiling our work processes.  Once we reach our goal here, we are set up to start build out almost immediately (Sooo exciting!!!)

We plan to have a space that is fit for professionals, students, families, and beyond!  With a space that has front window bar seating, couches throughout, private seating for one or two, and multiple large tables for larger groups or for stangers to make new friends...

Outside

When the weather is warm outside, we will have plenty of outdoor seating so that you can take in all the downtown Columbus has to offer!

Mom Bar

We have 3 young children and we know what it is like to have kiddos but still want to have a coffee date with a friend, so we plan to have a "Mom Bar" that allows the parents to watch their kids play in the play room, while chatting with a friend.  It's a unique concept to this area and in the coffee business, and we hope to love families well through it!

Rentable

We will have a space just for renting.  For a business meeting that needs coffee, pastries and lunch all in one spot, we fill that need.  For those who want to throw a private wedding/baby shower or a birthday party, this rentable space is for you!

Decor

There will be a huge wall mural that will be a central piece to showcase a local artist as a statement piece for our cafe.  We also plan to have a industrial feel to all of our decor, through metal, pipes, woods, and unique pieces.

• Include twice the amount of espresso as our leading competitor - double shots are standard!
• Include the best ingredients - aiming to have minimal artificial ingredients with non-GMO, gluten- free, and organic options

Serving with a Purpose 

The coffee and ingredints are not an afterthought... They are the main thought! Specialty coffee is just that, SPECIAL.  It's not your average cup of joe.  It's the best possible coffee bean we can get our hands on!  All in an effort to serve you the best product available. 

We also plan to have online ordering!  We know time is precious and technology is only getting better, so we intend to have an app that allows you to pay online and have your order done and ready by the time you arrive.

We believe specialty coffee is a combination of art and quality.  It's not about the fast food experience, but about a person to person experience.  Humans serving humans.  That we all have value, and that it drives us to a deeper desire to truly serve people and love them through our products and interactions. 

We see family as a huge part of this business.  We want our kids to see what it looks like to serve others through out work, to instill work ethic through hands on experience, and we simply, desire to work together as a family.
