Quick Pitch

Kelco Recycling, Inc. is the waste management solution that Northern Florida has been lacking. Unlike our specialized competitors, we will recycle and process a wide range of materials, including cardboards, paper, plastics, metals and fiber. Our one-stop approach makes us a uniquely feasible and cost-effective alternative to landfilling the waste, helping businesses keep their bottom line low and the planet - and their consciences - clean.

Opportunity

When you consider the fact that states such as California and Massachusetts are recycling 70% of their solid waste - or that most states recycle between 50-60% - it becomes clear that existing Floridian recycling methods are simply not cutting it.

Florida Legislature has implemented a Recycling Bill in 2010, outlining that by the year 2020, the goal is to have the recycling rate to 75% of all municipal solid waste. The opportunity lies in these numbers, proving that the Florida government will be rolling out new programs and shoring up old ones to help reach this goal.

Couple this with the growth of North Florida, specifically Jacksonville and Duval County, and it creates an enormous opportunity. Over the past ten years, the greater Duval County and surrounding areas has grown from 800,000 to 1.3 million people.

The Kelco Solution

Based out of Jacksonville, Florida, Kelco Recycling offers a number of services that combine into a commercial single stream product unlike any other operation in the Florida market.

We collect, and accept, all types of recyclable solid waste. Our efficient sorting technology then separates the materials into their respective categories. We process and bale these materials into 1-ton bales. These commodities are then bought by domestic and international mills to be recycled into new products.

Our recycling programs offer a range of streamlined solutions that help our customers prosper economically while fulfilling their responsibility to the environment.

How We're Different

We haven't set out to reinvent the wheel. In fact, our management team has decades of experience in the recycling industry, and much of our business model is based on past successes in the North East of the US, where recycling programs thrive.

Our strength lies in the fact that, wherever possible, we use our competitors' strengths to our advantage - and in doing so, build strong, mutually beneficial relationships. Large waste and disposal companies throughout Northern Florida already have the infrastructure in place to handle the waste - but are unable to process it. By partnering with them, they are able to haul their material to our plant. We save them the inconvenience and cost of shipping the material long distances, or paying to landfill that material, and then we sell the processed product to domestic and foreign mills.

Who would have thought waste management could be so elegant?
