Introduction

Biological tests (“bioassays”) are fundamental to both life science research and to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and medical disorders. These tests determines the strength or biological activity of a substance, such as a drug, by comparing its effects with those of a standard preparation on a test organism.

Integrated Fluidics’ patented technology dramatically improves the performance of bioassays with:

  • Better sensitivity
  • 15x acceleration of reaction kinetics
  • 25x reduction in reagent volume consumption
  • Reduced cost per assay

*Microplate System Configuration

iPlate™ Technology

Electrokinetically-enabled 96-well, 384-well or 1536-well microplates (iPlates™) for high-throughput screening applications, compatible with existing robotic and readout detection systems.

Meet Our Team

Members of the executive team have multi-disciplinary technical backgrounds and extensive experience in life science research and clinical diagnostics, spanning academics, R&D program development and management, and industry.

Robin Stracey
Director, President & CEO

Mr. Stracey assumed the role of Director, President and Chief Executive Officer of Integrated Fluidics in July 2012. From December 2007 to April 2012 he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Cantimer Incorporated, a privately-held biosensor company for which he continues to serve on the Board. From November 2003 to March 2007, he was Director, President and Chief Executive Officer at Applied Imaging Corporation, a publicly-traded, computer-aided diagnostics company that is now part of Danaher Corporation. Prior to that he was a business unit Vice President and General Manager at Thermo Electron Corporation, now Thermo Fisher Scientific, the world’s largest supplier of laboratory equipment and reagents to life scientists. Earlier in his career he served as a Corporate Vice President at Dade Behring Inc., a leading supplier of clinical diagnostic products that is now part of Siemens Healthcare. Mr. Stracey has a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom and is a graduate of the Executive Program at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Igor Mezic
Director and Chief Technical Advisor

Dr. Mezic is a Professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara where he also serves as the Director of the Center for Energy Efficient Design. He earned his Dipl. Ing. in Mechanical Engineering in 1990 from the University of Rijeka in Croatia and his Ph.D. in Applied Mechanics from the California Institute of Technology. He is a winner of the National Science Foundation’s Career Award and the George S. Axelby Outstanding Paper Award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Dr. Mezic has published widely on micro-fluidic particle manipulation and bio-molecular conformation processes in prestigious journals that include Nature, Science, PNAS, and Lab-on-a-Chip. One of his papers has been cited more than a thousand times in published articles discussing micro-fluidics (A.D. Stroock, S.K.W. Dertinger, A. Ajdari, I. Mezic, H.A.Stone, G.M. Whitesides: “Chaotic Mixer For Microchannels”. Science, 295, 647-651 (2002)).
