IMPACT Comics and Collectibles will be a comic shop/comedy/entertainment destination unlike anything that you will see in Ohio and possibly the Midwest. We promise to bring you the BEST that nerd culture has to offer and bring you the BEST comedy/entertainment that the midwest has to give!  

It's simple. The end result is a nerdy destination in Grove City, Ohio, with enough space for not only a comic shop, but a separate "showroom", where we can hold comedy shows, tv show viewing parties and nerdy movie nights. But, not only that, we want to use that same space to hold Magic The Gathering tournaments, D&D tournaments, video game tournaments, slot car tournaments, LAN parties, etc. We don't want this to be your usual comic shop, where for the most part you go in, find some items to buy and then leave. Or you go to play games and you are shunned or made to feel unwelcomed. The emphasis for our business is on the word destination. We want you to come and stay for a while. Hang out. Talk with like minded folks. Get out of the basements and interact with humans! We will even have a place where you can "chill" in the comic shop area with couches to just hang out and read your awesome buys and talk to those like minded people. We'll have coffee, pop and snacks for you to buy for cheap to take care of those hunger pains. We also want to have some racks of books and magazines to read while hanging out on the couches, free of charge! We want this to be a fun, safe place for people to come, hang out and feel welcomed. We don't want you to feel like you're our customers, we want you to know that you're our friends. This is also a way to bring our friends together to help the community. We want to hold charity events and fundraisers. Helping those in need is one of the most gratifying things that we can experience and we want to be able to do a lot of that. 

I guess that was a bit more wordy than I intended, but I want you to understand what we're going to do.      

I have been doing stand up comedy for the last three and a half years and in that time I have been lucky enough to both perform in, headline and host/emcee several shows/benefits around Ohio. Columbus has a booming comedy scene right now and those comedians need a good place to perform, that is meant for comedy. Not just a bar that does comedy sometimes. 

I am also a comic book nerd. I have been collecting comics, cards, toys, etc. for most of my 30 years on this planet. I love them. With that being said, not long ago I opened my own comic "shop" at the Caesar Creek Flea Market in Wilmington, Ohio. Since opening, I have seen sales increases between 30-60%, with limited inventory and limited hours. I have been trying to open a shop for a long time and starting at the flea market was the easiest way to get into it. But, business is booming and I'm ready to expand and grow my business. It's time to open my own storefront, to where I can marry my 2 passions......comedy and comics. 

Now, a bit about my professional background. I have about 10 years of managment experience in food and retail, including places like Bob Evans and Macy's. So, I know how to run a business and I grew up in a large military family, so I'm not afraid of hard work. 

Lastly, I have been extremely fortunate to surround myself with high quality friends and colleagues. I will never claim to know everything, so I have great people to lean on for knowledge and expertise.

We're different than what is currently available in central Ohio because we are combining a comic shop with an entertainment venue. It's not one or the other.....it's both. Come for the comics and stay for a show!

Although, I have to admit that I didn't conceive this amazing idea. Meltdown Comics in L.A. has been doing this for years and I'm a huge fan of Chris Hardwick, who has teamed with Meltdown Comics to make their showroom, "Nerdmelt", as successful as it has become.
