Meet GFE

Over 1.8 million people have been killed and more than 2.8 billion have been affected by natural disasters in the last 10 years alone. The Global Food Exchange™ was created to change this. The Global Food Exchange™ is a unique opportunity to join industry leaders in the implementation of a long awaited solution to efficient disaster response.  This effort has brought together government agencies, relief agencies, and capital markets like never before; in a way that is incredibly sustainable and amazingly efficient.  The business of GFE grows through manufacturing partnerships, exchange transaction fees, and from providing a cost effective solution in the immediate aftermath of natural disasters and conflict related food shortages that has not existed until now.

What We Do

GFE manufactures long-term food stores and lease institutionally sized mobile water systems, shelter systems and portable hospitals.  These products are strategically located in secure storage facilities for rapid deployment into disaster prone areas. By partnering with farmers and manufacturers they benefit from our ability to provide price support when pricing is low or manufacturing is slow; and we have the ability to push stored products back into markets that are seeing food prices surge or that are in immediate need, like after a disaster.  This reduces overall food price volatility for producers and end users.  Through our long-term food storage technology and our partners in water filtration/shelter technologies we intend to provide better products, faster and cheaper than anyone else in the world.  But first, we focus on saving those lives that are presently lost from these inefficiencies, the post-disaster market.

How We're Different

The Global Food Exchange™ is a revolutionary model for serving a benevolent purpose with a free market solution.  While the Global Food Exchange™ is clearly a "for-profit" business it serves a purpose that ultimately will resolve an inefficiency that negatively affects billions of people worldwide.

To insure the mission of removing significant price volatility in the pricing of our most basic needs, primarily food and water, without being subject to the pressures of seeking higher margins, the Global Food Exchange™ has incorporated a target Net Operating Income of 15%.  This business model allows us to seek out the best balance of quality and price for the benefit of the end user, independent from the profitability goals of the company.

So Far

We have produced over 1 million meals, and have storage contracts in Salt Lake City, UT, Shreveport, LA and Columbus, OH.  We are a UN approved vendor and have relationships with major relief agencies.  Most recently we have partnered with the IDRN (International Disaster Response Network) to train some of their 9,500+ badged members on incorporating the use of our network to order food, water and related supplies by their Rapid Assessment Teams.

We are expecting our first deployments into South America and the Middle East by spring, 2015.  An agreement is in place with one of the largest economies in the Middle East to create a $200 MM (USD) Food Fund, powered 100% by products from the Global Food Exchange™.  These formal announcements are pending.
