Indoor rock climbing gyms have increased in popularity since the late '80s.  With climbing making it into the 2021 Olympics it has been pushed out into the limelight.  Mobile, Alabama is our home and we are happy to bring our passion and love of rock climbing to our great city, but we need your help. Mobile is a large city and for us, it often feels like there is nothing to do.  Fighting Gravity wants to provide a safe place to have fun in an inclusive inviting community.

Fighting Gravity will provide a climbing gym facility that will offer 5,000 sq ft of bouldering climbing surface.  Bouldering is a type of climbing where you are free to climb short heights without a rope or harness and fall onto a thick soft mat.  This type of climbing is extremely popular because of the freedom it allows to the climbers and the gyms.  Fighting Gravity plans to provide child care services with an exclusive area for the kiddos to run free in a safe environment.  Fighting Gravity also plans to offer other innovative forms of fitness like yoga, cycling, or aerial fitness based on what our community finds interesting.  

Fighting Gravity’s founders are Aspen and Jessica Ulmer.  Aspen and Jessica are passionate about their city, Mobile.  They are both first responders in the city of Mobile and one their greatest passions is for their city and the people in it.  Another passion of Aspen and Jessica's is Climbing.  Aspen fell in love with climbing while doing COVID19 relief work in New York City.  She then immediately shared that love with Jessica.  Aspen and Jessica knew they had to share this amazing fun way to fitness with the city they care so much about.  We ask that you believe in us because we believe in YOU.
