Meet DocChat: the new mobile application that empowers users to take control of their healthcare destinies by giving them the ability to connect with highly qualified and certified physicians anytime, anywhere, in a matter of minutes.

If you’ve ever been to the doctor’s office, chances are that this scenario sounds familiar to you:

You have a health concern — nothing urgent, but something you’d feel better about if you could talk to a professional. So you call your doctor's office to get an appointment, and the administrative assistant tells you that the next available time is 3 days out. You shuffle your schedule around to make that time work, and on the day of your appointment you make the trip out to the doctor’s office, where you fumble your way through the unnecessarily complicated paperwork before grabbing a seat in the waiting room, where you wait… and wait… and wait some more for the doctor to be ready to see you.

Finally, you get in a room with a doctor, and after about five minutes and a series of simple questions, the doctor diagnoses your symptoms before sending you on your way with a prescription… and a $40 co-pay bill you’ll spend another hour and a half trying to work out with your insurance provider.

It may go without saying at this point that the US healthcare system is far from a perfect process. Doctors’ offices are over-booked, and, depending on where you live, hard to get to; visits to the doctor are stressful, time-consuming, and often expensive, especially if you have poor health insurance — or no health insurance at all.

And the thing is, it doesn’t have to be this way. 78% of the concerns people have that send them to the doctor’s office don’t actually require them to physically be there. Doctors can assess the problem and prescribe treatment without ever touching or even physically examining the patient.

Imagine the difference it would make—not just for individuals, but for the US healthcare system at large—if people with minor health concerns could have those concerns taken care of without crowding the waiting rooms, taking up time and racking up astronomical bills.

Imagine the difference it would make if getting real, responsive, accurate healthcare advice were as simple as, say, a few swipes of your smartphone screen.

You won’t have to just imagine for very much longer, because DocChat, is making it happen.

The mission of DocChat is simple: make healthcare more accessible.

With DocChat, getting answers to your medical questions and concerns couldn’t be easier: just download the DocChat app, request a doctor, and in a matter of minutes you will be face-to-face with a qualified physician who can diagnose your symptoms, deliver advice, and, if necessary, prescribe any medication you need to get you back to feeling 100%.

Leaders in the medical community have long recognized the potential of telemedicine to transform the healthcare industry, but options that have emerged before now have left a lot to be desired. Too many patients report problems getting doctors to respond in a timely manner, complain of difficulties getting follow-up questions answered without paying for additional appointments, and feeling rushed to complete their appointment under strict, Final Jeopardy-style time limits.

With DocChat, we’re reimagining telemedicine, making it simpler, faster and more convenient than ever before.

Unlike other telemed programs, DocChat offers 3 guarantees:

DocChat users will be connected with a highly qualified and credentialed physician within 15 minutes or your money back

Our patients will have the ability to ask unlimited follow-up messages through the app, at no additional charge; and,

There will be absolutely no limit on the length of your call -- at DocChat, the doctor's not done until you are.

Here are just a few of the game-changing features that will allow DocChat to make healthcare more accessible and affordable than ever before:

15-minute connection guarantee
Connect with a DocChat doctor within 15 minutes of calling in, or your call is free.

$50 per individual call

Annual unlimited subscription:
$600 per year

$375 per 6 months

The features listed above are just the beginning for DocChat. Our team has big plans to expand our app with new features moving forward, including:

Pulse rate and oxygenation detection capabilities that will allow users to provide these valuable vitals to their doctor directly through the app.

A dedicated DocChat community, where users can ask questions and seek advice and answers from doctors, in addition to sharing their experiences with other users.

Telemed kiosks, to be placed at universities and in public places, where people can get access to the same service we provide through the app without depending on their smartphone.

Expansion of our doctor database, which will initially consist of general practitioners, to include other kinds of healthcare professionals, including nutritionists and dieticians, psychiatrists and psychologists, neurologists, urologists and even surgeons.

DocChat is being created by a team of seasoned business and healthcare professionals united in their mission to make healthcare more accessible.

Michael Okhravi
I'm absolutely infatuated with innovative technologies that improve people's lives. I'm also a principled person, and the state of medicine as it is in the US is different than any other industry. Doctors, for the most part, are inaccessible to patients. The attitude is, "You need me. I'm the doctor." Often, patients are left waiting for weeks to receive appointments, then waiting even when they arrive on time for their appointments,  and some  even die in ER waiting rooms. Medicine has advanced so much in terms of practical technology but not so much in the way of customer experience. The word "customer" is an important distinction to me. A "patient" is someone who needs care. They'll do whatever they must to receive it, including accepting shoddy service. Some practices exploit this. When medical facilities' attitudes change and they begin to see a patient as a customer -- someone who willingly came to them and is willingly spending their money with them and can willingly go elsewhere -- that's when people will have the best experiences. That's what I'm doing with DocChat. We have a simple mission: Make medicine accessible. By adhering to that vision, we will deliver the most convenient and streamlined care to patients while also lowering the cost.

Dr. Steve Okhravi
My mission is to change the way patient care is delivered. My vision is to use innovative solutions like telemedicine and standalone to achieve that end. Above all, practicing medicine should be ethical and honest. With EMC, I sought to change the way emergency care was given. I started DocChat to continue my journey in making medicine human again. The value of the human touch in the provider-patient relationship is something I cherish. Doctors and patients don’t have to be face-to-face to obtain that.

Dr. Tariq Gill
Dr. Gill is the founder and director of Radiologists Without Borders, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing medical imaging equipment and resources to underdeveloped naitons around the world. He is also an advisor to several national healthcare, technology and service organizations and 2 international universities at the forefront of defining the future of medicine.

Stefanie Messina
My love for emergency medicine began at a very young age with the television show “Emergency”. I grew up with a desire to work on a paramedic ambulance, and did realize that dream for 10+ years. The intensity, both positive and negative, of the patient care experience helped to shape the person I am today.

Eric Azizian
Eric has been involved in business since the fruitful age of 14 when he decided to partake in a web design project for his father. Ever since then it's been a rollercoaster ride of different business startups and exits. Through and through however, he has maintained his position as the 'marketing guy' - and has a deep commitment to the healthcare space after experiencing acute subdural hematoma from a skateboarding accident.

Growing up in Australia, Eric knows that
People living in the country side of Australia typically need to drive at least 10-15 miles to get to their nearest clinic, or sometimes if a case is severe they will get airlifted to the nearest hospital. People living in the developing world may not have access to quality care when they need it and those who do might have to wait hours to see a specialist. He wants to change that with DocChat.

I have worked in the medical field in varying positions and I am currently the Practice Manager of Emergency Medical Care. Our model has always been “patient first” which sadly has become a lost sentiment among so many medical providers. DocChat enables us to be patient-centric and deliver quality medical care utilizing the exciting advances in technology without losing the human touch.

DocChat is a dream come true!

Development of the DocChat app is already completed, and DocChat is already getting the attention of several leading medical facilities, including Coordinated Health.

We're making great progress, but we need help to kick that progress into high gear, and that's where you come in!

With this crowdfunding campaign, our goal is to raise $50,000 to help us get some of our awesome new app features off the ground, including pulse rate monitoring and preferred doctor scheduling capabilities. With the support of this funding, we estimate that we can bring accessible, affordable, convenient healthcare options to 100,000 users within 6 months of launch.

We have some great rewards lined up to thank you for supporting the DocChat vision:

Please Note: DocChat will not be available in the following states for the foreseeable future. We apologize and urge you to contact your state legislators to encourage them to allow doctors to use telemedicine to establish a patient-provider relationship.
Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Louisiana, South Carolina
