DFG Noodles Permanant Location

It has been two amazing years since DFG Noodles opened our trailer windows with the generous aid of friends and family. We have spread the addiction of Southeast Asian food all over Austin and the love of our food seem to be widespread no matter where we set up shop.

We consistently get requests from our lunchers to open a restaurant or get a second truck and set that down on a permanant spot so that our fans can bring their friends and families and spread the joy at dinner time/ weekend time/ beer time. Without the aid of investors but with strong support from our customers, we have built enough steam to now turn once again to crowdfunding in order to make the dream of having a permanantly situated DFG Noodles come true whether it be in the form of a brick and mortar restaurant or another food truck all settled down at a food truck park so everyone can enjoy DFG Noodles all day long.

The top dishes that all of you have come to enjoy and get addicted to such as The Golden Nuggets (which outsells the second best seller, The Scholar by two times), The Scholar which was the original favorite, The Concubine, a noodle soup called Mi Fen Tang in Singapore, and even the up and coming new addition to the menu The Empress will still be on our brick and mortar or food truck menu. If we are ever so blessed to open a brick and mortar, we will be able to offer best selling dishes from Southeast Asia that we couldn't offer on a food truck or trailer. Dishes that are to die for and are far more tasty than the Golden Nuggets! So here's our attempt to reach further than the "Gold" and help us wow your taste buds at our new brick and mortar.

$80,000 will get us a new food truck or a deposit on a restaurant loan! If we manage to raise more than that, we will be on our way to a restaurant!! The ideal restaurant location will be Hyde Park or if we go with a food truck, the ideal is a high foot traffic area such as Rainey Street, The Domain, or the East Side.

How We're Different

One look at our name (DFG stands for Dang F'in Good), our dishes, and the care we put into little details like plating and you'll know we are not your ordinary food truck or Asian food. There isn't a single dish on the menu that is mediocre. Every single item, every smile, everything we strive to achieve is dished up with love and that!...friends, is what converts first-timers to life-timers. We add love and not just to our dishes but the way we treat our customers.

With our restaurant or food truck, we will be initiating a loyal customer incentive. Instead of having loyalty reward punch cards like most food establishments, we will invite our loyal customers to a closed, VIP, by invite only to our bi-monthly Food Bash where we drink and feast on some of the best dishes found in Southeast Asia such as Singapore Chili Crab.

This is how we show love. We will strive to treat our customers like the Cheers Bar "where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came". We refuse to be another fast-casual restaurant where everyone is just friendly. We will be a fast-casual restaurant that wants to be friends.

Cheryl Cunningham - Owner

Noodle Head

Cheryl Cunningham, Owner and Chef at Damn F’in Good (DFG) Noodles, has always enjoyed that rare moment when people’s eyes roll back after taking the first bite of truly amazing food. During one particular eating experience when she was six years old, Chin’s father took her to a hole- in- the- wall restaurant where she had an unlikely incredible lunch. That evening, she asked her parents for money, hailed a cab and took her five (older) cousins back to the same restaurant. They loved the food as much as she did, and at that moment, Chin was convinced that she had to learn to cook. Born and raised in Singapore, Chin’s background included acting in Film and TV with Singapore’s Mediacorp Studios as well as the big screen in USA. Throughout her acting and singing career, Chin has won the title of Star Search Champion in Singapore, earned spots in FHM Singapore Magazine’s “100 Sexiest Women in the World,” and worked with actor/director Steven Segal. With several personal dreams to be fulfilled, including writing a novel and ice caving in Antarctica, Chin also wanted to open a restaurant, or a trailer in this case, incorporating her love for great food. Inheriting cooking skills from her mother, grandmother, and nannies, as well as experimenting on her own since the age of 7, Chin took her interest in cooking to the next level. Chin has brought not only unique cuisines to the Austin food trailer scene, but also to the lively Texan capitol as a whole. There’s nothing Chin loves more than eating with loved ones. With her trailer of delightful Asian noodle and rice dishes, she is able to share that passion.
