Seeds Featured at NY Tech Meetup
New York has it all: lights, celebrities, and a center stage for those on a mission. Rachel Cook, founder of Seeds, will take advantage of NYC's offerings tonight at the NY Tech Meetup, a group consisting of over 26,000 members.
Rachel intends to demonstrate Seeds, a microlending game (think Farmville meets Kiva!), in front of more than 600 October meetup attendees at 7pm this evening. Members of media outlets from the Wall Street Journal, the Verge, Inc., and CNN will be in attendance at this month's meetup, and previously presented companies have included:
- Altavista
- GroupMe
- Bit.ly
- Codecademy
- Disqus
- Zaarly
It's easy to see that presentations can be a great opportunity for exposure to the public – but how does one find presentation opportunities?
Try www.meetup.com first. This site lists hundreds of meetups in many cities around the U.S., and many of the meetups feature new presenters on a monthly or biweekly basis. Next, scour the Internet for local clubs and organizations that feature speakers – if yours fits, shoot them an email pitch and get involved!
