Featured Startup: Fannotate
Part of the experience of watching a movie is discussing the highs, lows, plot holes, and other interesting aspects of what is being watched. Typically, this kind of movie analyzing takes places in the comfort of your own home with friends or family while watching the movie for the second, third, or even fourth time on DVD. Imagine the “a-ha!” moments often experienced by those who have just been informed of an aspect or detail of the plot that they hadn’t previously noticed – it’s fantastic to be able to highlight certain parts of a movie while watching it with other avid fans, right?
Now imagine being able to discuss a blockbuster like The Hunger Games with hundreds of thousands of other fans; the insights and “a-ha!” moments that could be had are innumerable! Fannotate, the official companion app to The Hunger Games, allows you to do just that; similar to leaving a breadcrumb trail of thoughts and insights behind you while watching The Hunger Games, others will be able to view exactly what you were thinking at any given part of the movie in the form of notes and pictures.
With the app set to launch on August 18, 2012 (the same day as The Hunger Games DVD), The Hunger Games is only the first of many movies that will be available for use with the app.
