AriesGate is the manufacturer of a new patent pending tailgate platform that will allow for anyone in the construction trade to use their truck tailgate like never before!   The revolutionary design of the AriesGate tailgate will help change the construction industry by not only providing a safe way to transport tools, but most importantly, it will provide a platform that allows you to secure up to three tools (inserts) to the frame of the tailgate.  These inserts eliminate the need to lift heavy tool(s) and objects out of the bed of truck thereby reducing work site injuries.

The base tailgate was designed to allow for users to secure all of their needed tools and supplies directly into the frame.

The base tailgate combined with these inserts are going to allow the truck owner to customize one of the most static pieces of the truck to the most utilized part of the vehicle.  There are a number of ideas for the inserts and are only limited to the imagination of our customers. Our customers are our innovators and that is the message we will carry through all our marketing and advertising.

Who are we?

We are a company started in Columbus, Ohio by a US Army Veteran. We are committed to building a strong new American company.  We have a passion for trucks and a commitment to building local.

Where did we get the idea?

The idea came to the owner of the company, Greg Solt back in 1991 when he was working as a lot attendant for Home Depot in Royal Palm Beach, Florida.  Greg noticed how customers would load their pickup trucks with long pieces of lumber, pipe or siding that would protrude from the back of the truck. The owner would then secure the pieces with bungee cords or straps.  Being a truck owner himself, Greg thought why not build a tailgate that allows for the material to be laid securely in the bed of the truck while still allowing the tailgate to be closed.   

The idea blossomed from there.  Greg realized a new tailgate platform was necessary.  His vision for the tailgate included "inserts" that allowed different applications for the truck.  The rest as they say is history!

How did we get started?

Greg began with some crude sketches of his idea almost twenty years ago. He enlisted the help of friends and family to help out with his idea.  Greg’s sister Teri provided marketing guidance.  Bob Hall did some of the superb Solidworks design work.  Ron See offered his vast knowledge of material assembly, welding technologies, and concept development.  Greg also worked with his friend Will who has over 20 years in the automotive industry including owning and running large fleets of vehicles.

Greg also worked with the Small Business Development Center based out of Columbus Community College in Columbus, OH. They were invaluable in showing us how to take the concept from a crude drawing to the prototype we have today by enlisting other resources in the process.

This tailgate design not only allows the commercial truck user to be productive, it allows for any truck user to enjoy the AriesGate platform and its endless inserts.  There are a number of ideas for the inserts and we are only limited to the imagination of our customers.
