Quick Pitch

My name is Virgil M. Rochester Jr., co-founder and President of Advanced Network Applications. It is my privilege to introduce you to this project that is an evolutionary tool in the world of social media, Yadooz.com.

Although Yadooz is associated with social media, it goes far beyond that to provide a set of integrated and interrelated value added services that take into consideration the user's personal profile to connect them with events, people, information, items of interest, and business related activities.  In addition to personalized profile information, it also takes into consideration the location of members to trigger events and to make associations based on subject matter and content.  In fact, I prefer not to characterize it as a social network, but rather as a global, user-centric, collaboration, and information exchange network.

From my perspective, most social networks suffer from the lack of real-value added functionality and have so much irrelevant information that gets thrown at the user that it simply becomes noise and therefore of little or no value.  In most of today's social networks the end-user is led to believe that they are controlling what content and information they receive, where in reality, the majority of content and information delivered to the end-user is actually determined by the service provider with little regards to need or relevance.

That is where Yadooz differs!  It puts the user in total control of what they want to see, when they want to see it, and where they want to see it.  It allows the user to specify the types of information, personal connections, alerts, notifications, and events that they want to see.  Furthermore, it works for the user 24x7 by using their personal profile to search for information, people, events, etc. that match their personal profile and then loads it into their workspace.  From my perspective, this is a market niche that no one is really addressing and I truly believe that this is where the real value of social interaction is, and where the technology needs to go.  I also believe that Yadooz will change the dynamics of social interaction and form the basis for the next generation of social networking which will truly provide a globally accessible, value-added toolset that people will use to enrich their daily lives.

Obviously, there are other applications that leverage geo-spatial constructs, such as Foursquare and Roamz, but what is the long-term value of someone knowing what restaurant or event you are attending, or receiving a stream of pictures of restaurants and pictures of things that other people have discovered within your locale or proximity?  For me, it simply doesn't cut it and after using it several times, I simply turned it off.  In fact, the Wall Street Journal recently had an article about how investors were cooling off with regards to social media and one of the examples they cited was Foursquare, which allows you to notify your friends when you are at restaurants, events, etc.  In essence, this is not functionality that would cause someone to use it on a daily basis.  In fact, out of the 24M Foursquare users, they found that only about a third of them used it per month.  From my perspective, that is not a very good indicator for long term success.  What one really wants to see is consistent use of a system, and that only happens if there are value added services for the users that will assist them in their daily lives.

Given its 24x7 nature of constantly looking for relevant information, content, connections, items, collaboration, alerts, and events for the user, I can envision you, the end-user, waking up each morning to check Yadooz to find out what new relevant information, people connections, events, items of interest, etc. that it has found for you.  From that perspective, I truly believe that Yadooz will form the basis for the next generation of social interaction and collaboration, with a focus on the needs of the user.

Key Features

  • Uses geospatial awareness technology
  • Enhances the personal experience by connecting people with people, people with information, and people with events using their personalization parameters (e.g., interests, hobbies, skills, etc.)
  • Povidies the user with a single portal capable of supporting an integrated set of interrelated global network services versus having to switch between multiple applications for those services.
  • Eliminates the need  for users to have separate applications for personal and commercial interest events, entertainment, promotions and advertisements, information blogs, collaboration, situational awareness, help needed requests or connecting people with people based on subject matter, common interests, events, hobbies, etc.

  • Provides a common/standardized navigation framework for all services under the Yadooz umbrella.
  • Ability to dynamically identify and involve users based on real-time events by applying the user’s location, interests, skills, personal characteristics, etc. using a single application.
  • Empowers users to collaborate as a virtual community to respond to and even participate in events. Virtual communities are linked via Yadooz and are activated during events requiring on the ground response such as disasters. This is a powerful tool as members of communities and boundaries are mapped on Yadooz and are mobilized via alerts on mobile devices. In effect the Yadooz communities spring to life in the REAL WORLD whenever intervention is required.
  • Designed to evolve and grow to include new sets of functionality, informational content, forms of collaboration, and interconnection of people, events, information, etc.
  • Ability to transcend geographical boundaries with regards to identifying and connecting its users with relevant content and members with common interests.

  • Provides ability for Yadooz members to “opt into” different types of events.  For example, to self-identify themselves as an emergency medical technician in their personal profile and be included as a potential responder within their general proximity. This paradigm can be extended to any number of interests e.g. music, training and instruction, entertainment, sports etc.
  • Allows for the creation of user defined bots to crawl external data sources for relevant information, events and interconnections.
  • Serves as a source for targeted marketing and advertising which can provide extracts to advertisers and marketing companies based on client specified criteria.
  • Contains geo-tagged information that may be advantageous and desirable for companies in performing market analysis or by insurance companies for the analysis of natural disasters and events, accidents, or other demographic information.
  • Web, Smartphone, Table and other Wireless Smart Device Accessible.

About the Business and Team

The Business
ANA’s mission and business objective is to be the premier provider of cellular and internet based global network services that dynamically evolve and adapt based on the user’s physical location, real-time events, the user’s interests, skills, and personal characteristics. ANA will be developing the Yadooz platform of services by utilizing the cellular and internet environments, thus allowing for scalability, flexibility, and ease of deployment anywhere cellular and internet services exist.
One of our key value propositions and discriminators will be to provide the user with a single portal capable of supporting and providing an integrated set of interrelated global network services versus having to switch between multiple applications for those services. No longer will the user have to have separate applications for personal and commercial interest events, entertainment, promotions and advertisements, information blogs, collaboration, situational awareness, help needed requests or connecting people with people based on subject matter, common interests, events, hobbies, etc. All of these can be handled within the Yadooz global network using a common/standardized navigation framework.

Another key discriminator is our focus on the needs of the user and providing them with a value added service that delivers them information and services that they want, when they want it, and where they want it, based on information contained in their personal profile.  In essence, Yadooz puts the user in control of what they want to see, when they want to see it, and where they want to see it, whether it be personal or professional connections, alerts and notifications, collaboration, items of interest, social venues, and events.  Yadooz also empowers users to collaborate as a virtual community to respond to and even participate in events. Virtual communities are linked via Yadooz and are activated during events requiring on the ground response such as disasters. This is a powerful tool as members of communities and boundaries are mapped on Yadooz and are mobilized via alerts on mobile devices. In effect Yadooz communities spring to life in the REAL WORLD whether to respond to emergencies, or for participation in social venues, business opportunities, sporting activities, arts and crafts, etc.

From a revenue perspective, Yadooz provides advertisers a venue for targeted advertising wherein only those interested individuals receive their message, where and when they want it delivered.  From a market valuation perspective, Yadooz can be compared to current social media companies, such as Facebook, Google, Twitter, and others listed the following table.  Using Instagram as an example, an investment today could yield a return of up to 40 times the investment. The following are nine examples for comparison:
