Green Light Wireless is dedicated to bringing affordable, reliable Internet service to our city's residents. Our Internet service rivals national ISPs in quality and cost, while providing the flexibility and customer support that can only exist from a company operating locally.

We are a LOCAL wireless Internet service provider and deliver our services to homes and businesses through proprietary wireless transmissions - similar to how satellite television works.  Once our signal is received at a customer's location, it's turned back into a hard-line service that you can plug into just like any other traditional Internet service.

With towers all over Pittsburgh's east end, we are still a very small company but we're growing steadily.  This Fundable campaign is to help us establish our next distribution tower in Pittsburgh's Spring Hill neighborhood, to expand our footprint to include Lawrenceville, the Strip District, Downtown Pittsburgh, the North Side and parts of Spring Hill, Troy Hill and Millvale.

There is an incredible amount of engineering that goes into designing and implementing an antenna installation on an 800' radio tower (not to mention the data processing that happens on the ground at the base of that tower). There are many considerations, not the least of which are how much our equipment weighs and how much surface area our antennas have that will catch the wind and provide a "kite" or "sail" effect on the entire tower structure. If the tower topples, well that's no good for anyone! Engineers are consulted, Architects are engaged and riggers must deploy with a razor thin margin of error, in order to pull off a project of this magnitude.

Great question!  We bring the Internet directly into our network over a lightning fast fiber optic connection that enters Pittsburgh on the North Side. From there, our network remains entirely fiber until the signal reaches a Green Light Wireless receiver located on radio towers all over the city.

When our broadband service is installed, we mount an antenna at your location that connects directly to a tower on our fiber network.

Although we already service customers in many different parts of town (East Liberty, Bloomfield, Friendship, Shadyside, Oakland, the Hill District and the Southside just to name a few), there is a huge demand for our service in the Strip District and Lawernceville.  This part of town is down in the shadows of our other towers and we aren't able to receive our wireless transmissions there.
