We have created a new set of scientifically-based “action figures” to teach real scientific lessons integrated with character education to lower elementary children. This creates a fun reading experience and when children are happy and spontaneous, they learn more quickly.

Entelechy Education, LLC represents a novel approach toward integrating both STEM and character education themes which we describe as STEM-C™. The mission of Entelechy Education, LLC is simple:

We have already published our first title, Where's Green? in which The EnteleTrons™ help align the seven colors of the rainbow, while exploring the visible spectrum in a prism. Through character interaction, The EnteleTrons™ show everyone the value of cooperation.

We have written and published the e-book version on Amazon and printed 2000 hard copies. Active marketing is underway with modest sales.

We are planning to publish two (2) more titles this year:

What's the Matter? (Summer 2013) The EnteleTrons™ help the three primary states of matter understand their role in the water cycle. Through character interaction, The EnteleTrons™ help young readers accept the changes that occur in their lives.

Oxygen Finds Friends (Fall 2013) The EnteleTrons™ help atoms and molecules come together to form new compounds. Through character interaction, The EnteleTrons™ help young readers understand others' differences.

We plan to develop seven (7) additional books in the next two years, but could release many more depending on demand. Future plans include games, cartoons, movies, and toy versions of The EnteleTrons™.

The strategy of Entelechy Education, LLC is multi-faceted and includes:

Our initial efforts have focused on development and production of the children’s books and an interactive website. Each book in the series presents a single STEM concept that widens a child’s world a bit larger. It extends the child’s universe to include information previously hidden because he or she simply did not know it existed. Each book also presents the concepts in character development that help a child become a responsible citizen in his school, his home, and his community.

Future efforts include:

• Expansion of the The EnteleTrons™ series with dozens of titles aligned with Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards.
• The develpment of games that incorporate STEM concepts with character education and literacy learning --- Creative Connections™
• An interactive children’s magazine that supports the topics presented in the books

The “push” for improved STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education is gaining increasing attention.  Most of the effort is occurring at the high school and middle school levels --- with less emphasis and innovation at the formative, elementary school level.

• According to the National Science Board, “our Nation’s success in developing future STEM innovators rests squarely on the capacity of our education system to identify and nurture ability." Changing the course of our education system is a long-term proposition requiring significant foresight and early intervention both in school and at home. Since interest in STEM education begins to blossom in elementary school, early exposure can also strongly influence career plans.
• From a broader social perspective, the U.S. has recognized the value of character education enabling students to care about, and act on, core ethical values. There is a renewed interest in incorporating these themes into K-12 education standards and core curricula.
• Finally, during their early years, children are subjected to standard plots of good-versus-evil in their books and cartoons.  Often, these plots feature conflict as a solution to the problem.  When children learn to use positive character traits to solve problems, conflict decreases.

Science. Technology. Engineering. Mathematics. These are the cornerstones of an advanced technical education. Through these four topics, children learn about their world. They learn about their universe from the tiniest atom to the largest galaxy. They learn how machines work and how to calculate predictions. They learn to use technology to further their education in all other subjects. These four subjects are indeed the foundation of any education.

Character Education. Character development makes a huge difference in how children’s brains develop, and scientists are now able to trace a direct route from early experiences to later problems in school, health, and behavior.  By incorporating character education we are promoting positive social expectations and improving intellectual development.

Literacy Learning. By incorporating STEM and character education into a formal literacy curriculum or a less-formal home environment, children will not only learn to read in a fun, interesting way, but they will also learn about modern STEM topics and valuable character education lessons.

Entelechy Education, LLC's remarkable difference is its combination of intellectual topics with character education. Entelechy Education, LLC differentiates itself through its combination of STEM, character education, and literacy topics. The STEM topics are scaffolded, using the same science-themed characters, to allow students to learn the basics of a topic before proceeding to the advanced examination of the topic through Grade 5. Although there are no common, national STEM teaching standards (or framework) specifically for the K-5 student population, our products will help set the stage for the development of such standards and will easily align within the framework as it emerges in the coming years.  Our books are, however, closely aligned with the Language Arts Core Content Standards, which we have presented for the teachers’ convenience on our website and consistent with the newly released Next Generation Science Standards.

The EnteleTrons are sub-atomic particles that work to help the world maintain its natural order. They help others to understand the value of cooperation and good relationships. They help young readers to combine their external world with their internal world. The trio is peaceful yet assertive in their quest to develop the STEM and character education topics. They use the scientific method in their investigations.
